Buat yang mau install Windows XP di komputer yang gak ada drive CDnya, ada cara alternatif nih!
Cara ini saya dapet dari eeeguides.com.
Apa saja yang dibutuhkan?? Ini dia:
CD Windows XP
Komputer yang ada CD drivenya dan pake OS Windows XP atau Vista.
Setelah download semua kebutuhan di atas, berikut langkah-langkahnya:
1. Ekstrak Bootsect.exe, USB_prep8 sama PeToUSB.
2. Copy-Paste PeToUSB.exe ke folder USB_prep8.
3. Doble klik usb_prep8.cmd yang ada di dalam folder USB_prep8, nanti muncul command prompt kyk gini:
4. Klik sembarang tombol, nanti akan muncul window kyk gini:
5. Klik start. PENTING: Setelah proses format selesai, jangan tutup windownya! Biarin aja jangan dikutak-kutik.^^
6. Buka command prompt(start->all programs->accecories->command prompt atau start->run…->ketik cmd di box)
7. Arahkan command prompt ke direktori dimana bootsect.exe di ekstrak tadi pakai command:
“cd direktori_tempat_bootsect.exe”
contoh: “cd desktop\new folder”
8. Ketik “bootsect.exe /nt52 I:”. I adalah drive USB(ganti sesuai keadaan drive di komputer).
Kalau sukses nanti keluar kalimat “Bootcode was successfully updated on all targeted volumes.”
9. Tutup command prompt yang ini (jangan yang usbprep8). Tutup juga window petousb, nanti akan muncul window sbb:
10. Jangan tekan enter dulu di sini(iseng amat!^^)
Tekan 1 lalu enter. Window akan muncul, browse ke drive tempat cd XP.
Tekan 2 lalu enter. Masukkan huruf yang belum terpakai untuk nama drive di komputer(biasanya c,d,e,f sudah terpakai)
Tekan 3 lalu enter. Masukkan huruf tempat drive USB.
Tekan 4 lalu enter. Proses menyalin data ke drive USB akan dimulai .
11. Akan ada pertanyaan tentang memformat drive T. Ketik y lalu enter.
12. Setelah formatting selesai, tekan enter untuk lanjut.
13. Tekan enter lagi untuk lanjut.
14. Akan muncul box pop up, klik yes.
15. Klik yes lagi di pop up yang muncul.
16. Klik yes lagi untuk melakukan unmount virtual drive.
Oke! Proses selesai. USB sudah bisa dipakai untuk melakukan instalasi Windows XP.
Jangan lupa setup boot manager di BIOS untuk boot dari USB.
Terus pas instalasi, pilih nomer 2 dulu untuk text mode setup. Proses akan lanjut seperti instalasi XP biasa.
Setelah selesai pilih pilihan nomer 1 untuk melanjutkan instalasi Windows XP.
Jangan cabut usb sampai instalasi selesai. Setelah Windows selesai diinstal, cabut USB(safely removed dulu yaaah)

waktu itu pake cara ini gara2 liat harga dvd drive eksternal yang gak kejangkau! hehe..
coba aja mas budi, gampang kok!
kalau mau ngecilin ukuran xp juga bisa pake nLite dulu..
saya nginstall XP profesional cuma habis 800MB-an.
kapasitas minimal USBnya 1GB..
tapi kalo XPnya sudah di Lite, pake yang 512MB juga bisa..

wah, ini yg saya cari.
dvd drive laptop saya lagi rusak. garansi udah habis. mau nyervis takut mahal. beli dvd drive external jg mahal.
saya udah nyoba nginstal pake BartPE tp ga berhasil.
makanya ampe sekarang msh pake vista yang matre resources sama ubuntu yang tetap punya mslh kompatibilitas. dua2nya saya install pake usb ^_^
langsung saya coba deh…

kayaknya harus single partisi deh, jadi partisi yang ada dihapus semua dulu, jadiin 1 partisi aja..
terus pilihan primary disknya diubah dulu jadi usb, jangan yang hdd..
wah, emangnya ada pengaruhnya juga ya kalo ga single partisi??
susah jg nih…

pas dibuat single partisi baru bisa..

wah, akhirnya sukses juga nginstall xp dari usb nya.
ternyata emank harus single partisi. makanya sebelum diformat, sy backup dulu semua data.
tp kalo di komputernya sdh ada xp, kyknya bisa aj deh tanpa harus single partisi. soalnya sdh sy coba jg.
intinya, sebelum msk desktop/login, bootingnya tetep dari usb.

mas mau tanya saya udah coba sampai langkah 7 pas langkah delapan dia ga mau install bootsectnya bacaannya “bootsect.exe not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file” itu kenapa ya mas??

sejauh ini hampir berhasil namun tatkala sampai pada tahap ini –> Tekan 4 lalu enter. Proses menyalin data ke drive USB akan dimulai .

Mas, mau nanya? Apa untuk laptop ecs g736 support/kompatibel untuk booting via usb. Masalah yang saya alami sama dengan saudara andi dimana hardisk tidak terdeteksi dan cek virus pada saat booting awal via usb. Tambahan untuk ram sendiri standar pabrik 256mb. Terimakasih atas sarannya.

Laptopq acer aspire one..kena virus virut.terus virusnya aku karantina..waktu itu aku pake AVG..tp tiba2 AVGnya di uninstall ma temenq..jadi virusnya ilang+file yg terinfeksi..padahal virusny nyerang windows systemny..jd sekarang ada beberapa yg g bisa dbuk..tuh gmn carany?

abis itu klik setup.exe(atau yg sejenisnya)..

Tapi ada yg salah tuh di step terakhir untuk instalasi windowsnya, harusnya Pilih nomer 1 untuk text mode, setelah beres dan computer reboot, pilih nomer 2 untuk ngelanjutin…

sebenernya gampang kok install winxp via usb,saya dah coba berkali2 n berhasil terus.coba ikuti petunjuk ini mudah2an membantu
1.Buat folder di drive C dan beri nama foldernya AcerXP.
2.Copy file USB PREP8.zip, PeToUSB.zip dan Bootsect.exe pada folder AcerXP.
3.Extract file USB PREP8.zip, dilanjutkan dengan Extract file Bootsect.zip.
4.Extract file PeToUSB_3.0.0.7.zip, kemudian Copy file PeToUSB.exe ke folder USB_prep8.
5.Klik 2x file usb_prep8.cmd yang ada didalam folder USB_prep8.
6.Setelah muncul tulisan “Press any key to continue” dan menekannya, maka akan tampil windows PeToUSB.
7.Biarkan tampilan Windows PeToUSB dan jangan ditutup.
8.Format USB Flashdisk.
9.Setelah proses format Flashdisk maka jangan menutup windowsnya.
10.Kemudian pada Desktop, klik Start, pilih Run, dan ketik cmd (lalu tekan Enter atau klik OK).
11.Ketik CD\ (lalu tekan Enter).
12.Ketik CD AcerXP.
13.Ketik CD Bootsect.
14.Ketik bootsect.exe /nt52 E (dimana E adalah drive USB, tergantung drive USB berada).
15.Bila E berarti harus ketik : bootsect.exe /nt52 E: (lalu tekan Enter).
16.Jika berhasil, maka akan muncul tulisan “Bootcode was successfully updated on all targeted volumes”.
17.Kemudian tutup Command Prompt tsb (Bukan yang usbprep8).
18.Tutup juga windows PeToUSB.
19.Pada windows Command Prompt yang usbprep8, tepatnya ditulisan Enter your choice : Ketik angka 1, kemudian tekan “Enter”.
20. Silahkan browse ke drive CD O/S Windows XP, Ketik angka 2 kemudian tekan “Enter”.
21.Masukkan huruf yang belum terpakai untuk nama drive contoh”F”, Ketik angka 3, kemudian tekan “Enter”.
22.Masukkan huruf tempat drive USB Flashdisk berada, contoh”G”, Ketik angka 4, kemudian tekan “Enter”.
23.Mulai Proses copy ke USB Flashdisk.
24.Kemudian akan muncul pertanyaan apakah anda ingin mengformat drive “F”.
Ketik “Y” lalu tekan “Enter”.
25.Jika sudah tekan “Enter” lagi untuk melanjutkan prosesnya.
26.Kemudian tekan “Enter” lagi.
27.Setelah itu akan muncul popup, klik “Yes”.
28.Klik “Yes” lagi jika ada popup yang muncul.
29.Klik “Yes” untuk melakukan “Unmount virtual drive”.
30.Proses selesai, OK.
31.Kemudian tutup windows Command prompt usbprep8.
32.USB Flashdisk sudah siap digunakan untuk install O/S Windows XP pada Acer Aspire One.
B. Step Install O/S Windows XP pada Netbook Acer Aspire One :
1.Masukkan USB Flashdisk ke port USB pada Netbook Acer Aspire One.
2.Setting Netbook untuk Boot pertama dari USB.
3.Lakukan dengan menekan terus F12 saat booting.
4.Setelah masuk BIOS, nanti saat install, pilih yang mode “TEXT SETUP”.
5.Proses install O/S Windows seperti yang biasa dilakukan (Membuat Partisi dengan format NTFS).
6.Setelah itu Restart Netbook, selanjutnya pilih yang “GUI MODE” (Bukan yang TEXT MODE).
7.Jika harus Restart lagi, maka pilih lagi yang “GUI MODE”.
8.Bila proses install O/S Windows XP selesai, maka jangan mencabut USB Flashdisk.
9.Masuk terlebih dahulu ke Desktop Windows XP buka “Safely Remove Hardware”, kemudian lepas USB Flashdisk.
10.Jangan lupa untuk mengembalikan setting BIOS untuk booting ke hardisk kembali.

klau gue klik kanan pada drive C kok ada “add to existing encrypted archive”, sehubungan dgn pertanyaan sy kemaren, installasi office 2007 ngak bisa ada pernyataan “the windows installer service cannot update one or more protected windows files” mohon solusinx, Thanks”

path error. aneh sama kayak aam. langjah ke 9 error.kenapa gak bisa baca disk? cdnya xp pro sp2 bootable. cuman katanya ga ada .vbs gitu ga bisa buka path inputnya!! gimana tuh yh??

saya coba install ke netbook, proses usbnya sih lancar cuma masalah dia installnya waktu sampai di proses install indows saya coba delet partisi c: (format maksudnya) tak ga berhasil partisi c : ga mau di delelet keterangannya sih :
Setup is enable to perform the requested operation on the selected partition. This partition contains temporary Setup files that are required to complete the installation.
Trus saya coba install tanpa format c: tetep aja ga bisa?

mas, mo tanya… waktu proses intalasi muncul blue screen itu kenapa. aku install di PC p4
blue screen karena hardwarenya boss.kebanyakan permasalahan bluescreen dari ram.tapi g menutup kemungkinan dari hardisk atau vga cuma jarang.coba pake ram baru
ada trik laen install windowsxp dengan meng copy partisi windowsxp yang sudah jadi (di copy dari komputer pc misalnya) dengan memakai sysprep (bawaan tool windowsxp) hardware dapat direset, dan image copian tersebut dapat direstore ke komputer manapun 😀 baik AMD, Intel, single core, dual core, triple core bahkan quad core tanpa bluescreen…
jadi windowsxp yang tadinya ada di mobo PIII dapat dipindahkan ke mobo AMD quadcore…
jadi program lama kesayangan anda tidak perlu install ulang 😀
paling – paling tinggal remove driver dari mobo lama dan install driver bawaan mobo yg baru.
guidenya banyak tersedia di internet..

Gan yang di maksud install USB FLASH tu cm buat install pertama aja apa malah buat booting USB, sedang yang saya ingikan untuk install pertama aja spt CD, karna optic saya rusak belum belii kalo pinjem sekarang dah pada pake laptop semua bagaimana solusinya Gan matur thank you

Gue dah coba berhasil !!, tapi ada yang “aneh” USB Modem (OVATION MC950D) Gue gak ke detect, pertama sih gak percaya, sampe ulangin sekali lagi instalnya.. tetap aja USB Modemnya gak kedetect 😦 .. padahal “nyolok” diwindows yang diinstal secara normal (Pake Drive CD) aman-aman aja tu Modem (Bisa Decect).. Gimana nih Pak Bos solusinya?

saya udah coba berkali-kali tapi tetap saja errornya itu.
saya pake xp yang iso.trus di mount pake daemon.
pada step pilih source XP saya arahin ke H: (dimana daemon mount xp.iso) trus pilih tempat colok usb J
trus saya tekan 4. beberapa saat kemudian muncul dah tuh error.
salahnya dimana ya?

cobalah lakukan step2 yang telah dijabarkan namun tanpa menggunakan daemon (gunakan di komputer lain yang dilengkapi cd-rom dengan CD installer XP didalamnya),
dengan cara itu saya tidak mendapatkan pesan error lagi,

mas saya dah coba tapi pake kingston 1 GB dan saya dah buat berkali-kali pada saat option 3 drive yang ada flashdisknya dinyatakan Invalid drive. tapi kalo pake cruzer mini tak ada masalah.
sebenarnya aku dah putus asa. apa masalahnya. aku diagnosa mungkin dari flash diknya yang kingston. mungkin dari merk netbooknya dan banyak kemungkinan. Terakhir masalah adalah yang minta booting dari flash disk terus. TQ pada blog ini yang mempertemukan ku dengan sun yang mengomentari tentang merubah angka-angka partisinya.
mantap banget. Bagi teman-teman yang belum hisa coba buka semua blog yang bersangkutan dengan USB_Pre8 dan Winttoflash. Aku aja tiga hari tiga malam sambil nyari lailatul qodar. namun akhirnya berhasil juga. TQ
